Hello Everybody! I don’t know about you, but I am just completely stunned by the fact that October is here. 2013 is going by way too fast! Before you know it, Christmas will be here, and we’ll be ringing in 2014. Today I'm linking up with Charity Preston from TBA for Manic Monday Classroom Freebies. I'm also going to take a minute to show you all the great stuff I have for October.
It's no secret that I'm passionate about getting information into little minds. It gives them an anchor, a hook, and knowledge that is so commonly overlooked with the rush of trying to meet "Common Core".
My Writing Prompt Unit compliments my October Close Reading Unit as it addresses many of the same topics. However I designed the reading so that it is able to be used as a stand alone product. Embedded throughout are prompts filled with fun facts. Take a look!

Here's another fun unit I made. It's filled to the brim with facts! Compliments my October Close Reading Unit, and easy to use. The cards are differentiated in a simple fashion: Odd cards have the main idea in the topic sentence while the even cards have the main idea implied and dependent on the text. There are two different sets of directions should you choose to use it as a center. I also included two sets of answer sheets. As an added bonus there is an Anchor Chart for Main Idea: Stated and Implied. Use it to compliment your teaching and/or post in the center.
A quick and easy writing assessment!
This third grade math unit is modeled after my third grade math assessment unit. All of the word problems are fall themed. Not sure if you can see but I did it again. I embedded facts throughout! I love filling little minds with all kinds of goodness!
